since."

partners in crime.
Original "Wanted" Poster for Bonnie and Clyde. An original printed
"Wanted" poster issued by the "Division of Investigation U.S. Department of Justice," Washington,
DC, May 21, 1934. The poster is 8 x 8", and is profusely detailed, with a photograph of each of the
criminals at center, flanked by two columns providing descriptions, aliases, the names of relatives,
and a brief criminal record of each. Detailed information about the two outlaws is printed below,
and reads, in part:
"Clyde Champion Barrow and Bonnie Parker constantly travel together
and extreme caution must be exercised by arresting officers as they are wanted in connection with
assault and murder of officers... "
The crime they are charged with is "violation of the
National Motor Vehicle Theft Act." Just two days after the date of this poster, the two were
ambushed and killed by Texas Rangers near Arcadia, Louisiana, putting an end to a four-year spree of
robbery and murder that became the stuff of popular legend. Very Fine. On verso are printed
addresses and telephone numbers of 30 offices of the Department of Investigation (which later became
the FBI). Creased at centerfold, which is not visible in the frame. Overall size is 13½ x
13½".

sculptor who executed the colossal Mt. Rushmore National Monument.

Signed One page, Octavo, recto/verso, on personal stationery. New York, September 29, 1914. To
Miss Isabel F. Dodd, American College for Girls, Constantinople, Turkey. In part:
"...
about your Turkish friend and the desire on the part of the girls to raise One Hundred Pounds to
procure a bust of your well beloved president, Dr. Patrick, and in reply I wish to say that I will
make the bust of Dr[,] Patrick for the above mentioned sum as my wife has got me by the collar in an
unsuspecting moment and therefore I must yield to the inevitable... Mr Borglum joins me in very kind
regards to all our mutual friends. Our little son is two years and five months old and grows more
interesting daily. / Sincerely yours, Gutzon Borglum."
Very Good. Overall toning
with edges somewhat darker. Slight creases from being quartered and tiny chip in upper right. Verso
contains pencil written notes in Turkish and English.

59 Byrd, Richard E. 1888-1957. American explorer
and aviator. Accomplished the first flight over the North Pole (1926) with Floyd Bennet, for which
they received the Congressional Medal of Honor. In 1929 Byrd established a base in the Antarctic,
and subsequently made four more expeditions to Antarctica.

printed, oblong Octavo, 2½ x 6½", New York, June 28, 1928. Drawn on the Liberty
National Bank, in the amount of $6,976.81, the check is paid to the order of "Byrd Antarctic
Expedition."
This is the check that drew the funds that financed the famous explorer's
first expedition to Antarctica!. Very Fine. Docketed and endorsed on verso, "Byrd
Antarctic Expedition." A chilling document. Signed "R.E. Byrd." .
