798   Eisenhower, Dwight D. 34th President of the United States, 1953-1961. Collection of 1956 Presidential Campaign Memorabilia. Collection of nine rare presidential campaign items, including a 25 x 26" stars-and-stripes "Win With Ike For President" portrait banner; a circular nine-inch-round "US for Ike" wall plaque; and a 13½ x 12½" red white and blue "I Like Ike" elephant bandana, with six Eisenhower campaign buttons attached, two bearing small portraits, the rest brandishing campaign slogans. All are in Fine condition.

799   Harding, Warren G. and Coolidge, Calvin. 29th and 30th President of the United States, 1921-1923 and 1923-1939, respectively. 1920 Presidential Campaign Poster. Original sepia-tone campaign poster, 16½ x 11", by Schervee Studios, Edmonston, from the 1920 presidential campaign. Large book-end portraits of the Republican candidates, with their names and birth dates boldly printed below each portrait. In fine condition, with minor staining to upper right corner.

800   Kennedy, John F. 35th President of the United States, 1961-1963. Authentic 1/3 inch strand of Kennedy's hair in an ornate double golden frame. Obtained from Kennedy's barber, Harry Gelbert, including a notarized statement & newspaper articles, "... on a Sunday afternoon in July 1963, after giving the President a haircut at Lawford's Beach house in Santa Monica, Lawford's manager suggested that I collect the hair that I cut and save it as a memento." The ensemble is artfully bordered and protected by an 11 x 14" clear firm polyglass holder that can double as a frame. An outstanding memento of this century's most remembered president. Gelbert was invited to JFK's inaugural for president.

801   Lee, Robert E. The south's most revered leader. Authentic 1/3 inch strand of hair encased in an ornate golden frame taken from a lock of Lee's hair originally cut by Lee himself and presented to Louise R. Thome on April 19, 1869. This lock was sold at Christies, New York. World famous expert, Charles Hamilton certified the authenticity and origin of the piece. Eleven pages of Charles Hamilton certification are enclosed. This remarkable relic is protected by a firm crystal clear polyglass holder that can double as a frame. 11 x 14".

802   [Lincoln, Abraham]. 16th President of the United States, 1861-1865. A 1/3" strand of hair encased in an ornate golden frame, taken from a lock of Abraham Lincoln's hair originally from the personal collection of famous Lincoln collector and expert Frederick H. Meserve. A lovely colored facsimile letter of original letter from world famous expert Charles Hamilton accompanies this piece attesting to the authenticity and provenance. Eleven pages of Charles Hamilton certification are enclosed. This remarkable relic is protected by a firm crystal clear poly-glass holder that can double as a frame. 11 x 14".

803   [Lincoln, Abraham]. Funeral Relic. Genuine piece of mourning ribbon used during burial services in Springfield, IL. 1865. From the estate of H.W. Fay, custodian of Lincoln's tomb in Springfield. Measures 1/2" x 1 1/4". Certified for Authenticity.

804   Roosevelt, Theodore. 26th President of the United States, 1901-1909. Collection of 1904 Presidential Campaign Memorabilia. Collection of nine rare and intriguing presidential campaign items, including a 1904 Roosevelt/Fairbanks brass watch fob; a 1904 19 x 19" red and white printed handkerchief with images of Roosevelt in his Rough Riders hat; a 3 x 5" program for the 1905 Inaugural Ball with a pencil attached; two "Teddy Bear" post cards made from real animal fur; two color post cards of Roosevelt and his family; and two small collar buttons, one featuring an image of Roosevelt, the other bearing his initials. All items are in Fine condition, with some toning to most. Assembled together in a display case.

805   Spanish-American War Archive. A collection of twenty-six items relating to the Spanish-American War, including the book, The Authentic Photographic Views of the United States Navy and Scenes of the Ill-Fated Maine, by E. H. Hart, Chicago, 1898, oblong Octavo, 192 pages; seventeen medallions honoring Dewey, "Remember the Maine," Veterans Meetings, and others; two antique silver souvenir spoons, one commemorating the Flagship Olympia at the Battle of Manila Bay, with a portrait of Admiral Dewey, the other the US Battleship Massachusetts; a folding hand fans honoring General Nelson Miles; three lovely decorated silks, honoring Dewey, Gridley, and an especially elaborate silk of the USS Olympia; and two antique sewing needle kits that feature American officers and the "USS Olympiad" on the covers. Condition is on average Fine, with the hand fan depicting General Miles being partially torn.

806   Washington, George. 1st President of the United States, 1789-1797. A ½" strand of Washington's hair in an ornate golden frame. Taken from a lock originally obtained by Mrs. Custis L. Powell. A facsimile of a note circa 1845 indicates the source of the hair. Authenticated by the late Charles Hamilton world famous expert. Eleven pages of Charles Hamilton certification are enclosed.
