RUSSIA. Medal, 1708. Smirnov-178, Reichel-1011 (AR). Bronze. 30 mm. Commemorating the victory over the Swedes at Leesno. Armored bust of Peter I right. Reverse: Peter I on horseback trampling Swedish soldiers. Smirnov calls this a restrike of the award medal for Russian troops. Delightful dark-chocolate surfaces. Yum! Choice About Uncirculated.

An ancient scratch or two on the obverse, not affecting the portrait, and a similar scratch on the reverse, also not into the eagle. The portrait of Czar Peter is sensitive and nicely detailed, especially considering that this is only a VF. NGC graded VF-35.
