1908-D. PCGS graded MS-64. While PCGS has graded 147 in this condition, they have only graded 6 coins higher, making this grade really the best available. Frosty luster throughout and well struck for the Mint. Don't wait for a better one, they scarcely exist.
Estimated Value $1,800-2,200.

Lot 975

1909. NGC graded MS-64. A tough date to find this nice, glowing luster and less than the usual handling marks. Well struck and worth a look.
Estimated Value $1,800-2,200.

Lot 979 Click on Picture to EnlargeClick on Picture to Enlarge
1909. NGC graded MS-64. Fresh mint luster throughout and well struck by the dies. For some reason, this date is very difficult to locate in higher grades, for example, only 18 have been graded higher by NGC while they have graded 194 as MS-64. Needless to say, finding a higher grade example will be much more expensive than the coin offered here.
Estimated Value $1,800-2,200.

Lot 980
1909. PCGS graded MS-63. A choice coin indeed which boasts coppery toning and clean surfaces. The eagle has glowing luster on his feathers, which make him a very attractive bird.
Estimated Value $700-750.

1909-D. PCGS graded MS-64. Light coppery toning on both sides over flashy luster. Well struck and worthy of a gem set.
Estimated Value $1,750-2,000.

Lot 982
1909-D. NGC graded MS-64. This one is a step above the usual choice pieces seen, the luster is better and the strike is more complete. Minor handling marks on both sides.
Estimated Value $1,750-2,000.

Lot 983
1909-D. PCGS graded MS-64. Splashes of copper toning on both sides over lustrous fields and devices. Well struck and very tough to find even a notch better, virtually impossible above MS-65. If you are a collector, then this is a very substantial coin that will enhance your collection without breaking the bank entirely.
Estimated Value $1,750-2,000.

Lot 984
1909-D. PCGS graded MS-64. Well struck and preserved, with flashy luster and mint fresh surfaces. Minor tick marks from gem, but satisfying in every way.
Estimated Value $1,750-2,000.

Lot 985
1909-D. PCGS graded MS-64. One of several offered of this date, this one boasts light coppery toning and some darker colors on the central high points of the devices. Minor tick marks noted in the reverse fields.
Estimated Value $1,750-2,000.

Lot 986
1909-D. PCGS graded MS-64. Frosty with mint red luster on the devices. Trivial bagmarks from handling, but excellent in every way. Typical weakness on the headdress hair-cord knot and frills.
Estimated Value $1,750-2,000.

Lot 987
1909-D. PCGS graded MS-64. This example seems a bit fresher and cleaner than some of the others in this grade category, so careful inspection is recommended. With several of this date and grade to choose from, this is a rare opportunity to study several examples to find just the "right" one to fit in your date set. What an opportunity to match color and surface quality.
Estimated Value $1,750-2,000.

Lot 988
1909-D. NGC graded MS-63. Typical handling marks for the grade, mostly in the fields. Light coppery toning on both sides.

Estimated Value $700-750.

Lot 990
1909-D. PCGS graded MS-63. Some slightly darker colors on the high points, but lustrous and clean surfaces.
Estimated Value $700-750.

Lot 991
1909-D. PCGS graded MS-63. Frosty luster on both sides, but there is a shallow scratch from the Indian's forehead to the rim, and a low spot on the top feather of his headdress.
Estimated Value $700-750.
