1890. PCGS graded MS-65 Premium Quality. Tied for the finest graded by PCGS, there are 122 in this grade, with just 6 more in various states of prooflike MS-65. Most important, there are none graded higher! Examination will confirm that this is certainly a high end gem coin, better than the average "65". Reflective fields show scant signs of handling, and the devices are piled high with mint frost and are remarkably pristine. Boldly struck on the upper ear curls of Liberty, and also on the eagle's breast, with excellent feather separation. An exceptional example of this date, and worth far more than the average gem.
Estimated Value $1,750-2,250.

Lot 2118
1890-CC. PCGS graded MS-64. Slightly prooflike in the fields, which helps contrast the mint frost on the devices. Trivial scuffs on Liberty and in the field surrounding, with a delicate haze of toning on Liberty's face. There is a tiny planchet defect at the back of the eagle's head in the field.
Estimated Value $575-650.

Lot 2119
1890-CC. MS-62. Nice luster and decent surfaces, nearly choice.
Estimated Value $200-225.

Lot 2120
1890-CC. MS-60 Plus. In the nifty GSA black holder, kind of an early form of gradeless slabbing, if you will. Nice color and surfaces for the grade. Bright on the obverse, a bit of golden hues on the lower reverse.
Estimated Value $900-1,000.

Lot 2121
1890-CC. MS-60. There are a few marks on Liberty's cheek. Scarce as a date.
Estimated Value $150-175.

Lot 2122
1890-CC. AU-58. Not quite new, but still scarce.
Estimated Value $70-90.

Lot 2123

Estimated Value $100-125.

1890-O. PCGS graded MS-65. A blazing white gem that retains deep frost on the devices and excellent fields. One little streak of toning on Liberty's coiffure. This coin screams "gem" every way you look, and we know you won't be disappointed. Only 191 graded as such, with 8 graded higher in the PCGS Population Report, plus a couple of others in various Prooflike grades.
Estimated Value $1,400-1,600.

Lot 2125
1890-S. PCGS graded MS-65. Awash in bright frosty luster and well struck. Scarce in full gem condition, with a couple of scrapes from a grade higher. Untoned and pleasing.
Estimated Value $600-650.

Lot 2126 Click on photo for enlarged version Click on photo for enlarged version
1891. PCGS graded MS-65. Deeply frosted on the devices and well struck. Contrasting fields and devices, and clean fields. One tiny nick is noted on the tip of Liberty's nose. The PCGS Population Report shows just 42 graded this high, with a single coin graded higher! One of the finest extant.
Estimated Value $5,000-6,000.

Lot 2127
1891-CC. MS-60. This one is mounted in the GSA black plastic holder with box of issue. Light gold around the edge, and with nice surfaces that show moderate handling marks. A rare date.
Estimated Value $850-1,000.

Lot 2128
1891-CC. MS-60. Untoned from a cleaning, with moderate hairlines now on the surfaces.
Estimated Value $125-150.

Lot 2129
1891-CC. AU-58. Cleaned and possibly retoned, quite colorfully we add, with hues of dusky rose and bright ocean blue around the devices especially on the reverse. A rare date, and always in demand.
Estimated Value $100-125.

Lot 2130
1891-CC. AU-55. A hint of rub, but better than one would expect.
Estimated Value $75-100.

Lot 2131 Click on photo for enlarged version Click on photo for enlarged version
1892. PCGS graded MS-65. A satiny white gem that has full undiminished luster and clean surfaces. Only a few minor bag ticks are present, and this coin would be a handsome addition to a gem set. Excellent cheek on Liberty and with good separation on her upper curls, and on the eagle's breast feathers too. Rare in this grade, only 118 qualify as PCGS MS-65 and a single coin is graded higher! .
Estimated Value $3,000-4,000.

Lot 2132
1892. MS-60. Kind of scuffy on Liberty's face, but starting to tone at the rims. Scarce.
Estimated Value $70-90.

Lot 2133 Click on photo for enlarged version Click on photo for enlarged version
1892-CC. PCGS graded MS-65. A winter blast of snowy white greets the eye when this sparkling jewel is placed under a light. Satiny frost on the devices, and the fields are a bit reflective. What truly matters here, though, is the superb surfaces. Only trivial ticks are found, none of the usual gouges and heavy scuffs which are nearly always found on these rare dates. As to rarity, this is one of just 149 graded as such by PCGS, and only 9 have been graded higher. A stunning coin which will enhance any collection of gem Morgan dollars.
Estimated Value $4,000-5,000.

Lot 2134 Click on photo for enlarged version Click on photo for enlarged version
1892-CC. PCGS graded MS-64. A solid coin for the grade, untoned and with flashy luster in the fields. Expected handling marks, but far fewer than found on a choice example. One of the more desirable dates of the series.
Estimated Value $900-1,000.

Lot 2135
1892-CC. MS-61 Prooflike. An exciting piece to view! The surfaces show few handling marks, far fewer than expected for the moderate grade assigned. Perhaps the stray hairlines in the delicate fields account for the grade. Wonderful frosted devices, and the fields show excellent mirroring, especially on the reverse. An opportunity.
Estimated Value $350-450.

Lot 2136
1892-CC. MS-60 Plus Prooflike. Check out this one, it has great toning around the periphery and reflective fields on both sides. A rare date that many collectors need for years before they locate a suitable specimen. If you love toned coins, then grab this one.
Estimated Value $350-450.

Lot 2137
1892-CC. AU-53. Slight wear on the upper devices, untoned.
Estimated Value $150-175.

Lot 2138
1892-O. PCGS graded MS-64. About as nice as this date comes, just 60 or so have been graded higher. Minor stacking scuffs on the high points, frosty white in color and nearly a gem.
Estimated Value $375-425.

Lot 2139 Click on photo for enlarged version Click on photo for enlarged version

Estimated Value $150-175.
