Macedonian Kingdom. Antigonos Gonatas, 277-239 BC. AR tetradrachm (17.7 g). Macedonian shield with star and double crescent border; at center, bust of Pan left, draped with nebris, pedum behind. Reverse: Athena Alkis advancing left, brandishing thunderbolt and shield; helmet in left field, KT at right. SNG Cop. 1201. Beautifully centered and boldly struck. Lightly toned, with touches of iridescence. Very Fine.

Macedonia. Under Roman Rule, after 168 BC. AR Tetradrachm (16.8 g). Diademed and draped bust of Artemis right, centered within Macedonian shield; patterned with stars within double crescents. Reverse: Horizontal club within oak wreath, monogram above. SNG Cop. 1310; SNG Ashmolean 3290. Portrait boldly struck; evidence of die breaks on obverse, one on reverse. Attractive toning. About Extremely Fine / Extremely Fine. This among the prettiest of the Artemis portraits.

Thrace. Istros, c. 400 BC. AR Drachm (6.9 g). Two youthful facing male heads, one inverted. Reverse: Sea eagle grasping dolphin left. SNG BM --; SNG Cop. --; Cf. AMNG 405. Toned. Very Fine. Rare. Interesting early style of Istrus' first coins, the art reminiscent of Larissa's earliest facing heads.

Both with fine old toning; the latter with boldly styled lion. Fine.
