American and Modern Artists. Lot of eight signed business and calling cards of American painters and modern artists. Amercian artists include Partridge, Albert Bierstadt, Millet, and Joseph Urban. Modern artists include Max Band, Vasa, and Leonardo Nierman. Five of the cards are inscribed. Urban, Millet and Partridge cards have light surface abrasions. Overall, the group is in very good condition.

Architects. Lot of four signed calling cards of American and German architects and designers including Josef Pelzig, William Pereira, Charles Luckman, and Friedrich Adler. Adler adds a lengthy inscription in German that continues on verso, and there is faint residue on the card which does not affect the signature. Else, the group is in very good condition overall.

Artists and Sculptors. Group of eight signed visiting and business cards from artists including sculptors Eli Harvey, and T. Buchanan Read, as well as artists Elihu Vedder, James Carroll Beckwith, Albert Bierstadt, George Flagg, and Flavia. Each card is also inscribed, many with lengthy personal notes. Flagg pens the phrase, "The greatest of these is charity." A few cards are lightly toned, the recto of the Flagg card has staining towards the lower edge, and a fold at one corner, none of which affects the signature. The group is in good to very good condition overall.

Group of five business and calling cards of influential artists such as Frank Dicksee, allegorical master William Bouguereau, historical and portrait painter August Kaulbach, Felix Moscheles, and Ignar Marcel Gaugengigl. Each is inscribed (three in pencil), all in French but for the Dicksee. Bouguereau is lightly stained. Overall, the group is in very good condition.

Each is signed but for the Tsui-Pai Yeh. Rabino card is lightly soiled, else the group is in very good condition overall.

Includes a duplicate Hunt card. The Alma Tadema card is slightly smeared, and one Hunt card has a pinhole at top center. Otherwise, the group is in good condition.

May signs in pencil, others all in pen. Three cards are inscribed at length. May and McCutcheon cards have remnants of an adhesive on recto. Otherwise the group is in fine condition overall.

There is a small abrasion to the edge of the LaFarge card. Otherwise, the group is in very good condition overall.

The group is in fine condition overall.

Each is inscribed at length but for the Jovanovic, which is simply signed. Lucas' card has a small hole punch at the upper left. Else, the group is in very good condition.

Most are inscribed at length. Barrias and Renard sign in purple ink. Edges are lightly folded and there are light stains on the Lobrichon card, a few cards have handwritten notations in pencil. Otherwise, the group is in very good condition.

Each is inscribed in French. Charles Carpeaux signs in pencil, Madame Carpeaux in purple ink. Two of the cards are lightly stained, the Castaigne is folded and ink has smeared a bit. In good condition overall.

Lot of nine signed business and visiting cards from illustrators, charicaturists, and cartoonists including Alberto Vargas, Harrison Fisher, Daniel Carter Beard, Theo Davis, Charles Dana Gibson, Al Capp, Palmer Cox, and George McManus. Several cards are inscribed: McManus draws a character next to his caption: "Well -- where the hell is the drink!", Palmer Cox adds "Brownieland" with his autograph, and Capp uses a pink crayon to pen his name. Most cards are toned, several with stains or residue remnants. Still, the group is in good condition overall.
