19th Century Poets. Group of six visiting cards from 19th century poets Oliver Wendell Holmes, William Cullen Bryant, James Whitcomb Riley, Washington Irving, and Henry Longfellow. Cards by Holms and Bryant are signed by the poets. Cards are lightly toned, the Irving card with a fold at one corner. Still, the group is in good condition overall.

American Literary Figures. Group of three signed business and calling cards from American authors Jack London, H.L. Mencken, and Joaquin Miller. Each card is lightly toned, the Mencken card with rust from a paper clip and slight buckling along top edge. Otherwise the group is in good condition overall.

London's card clearly dates to his early career as a reporter, as the card lists the following newspapers at the lower left: New York Journal, New York American, Chicago American, San Francisco Examiner, and the Los Angeles Examiner.

Literary American Women. Group of sixteen signed visiting and business cards from a range of American authors including Mrs. Irving Berlin, Amanda Douglas, Agnes Repplier, Elsa Maxwell, Mrs. John C. Fremont, Kate Douglas Wiggin, Anita Loos, Mary Roberts Rinehart, Betty Smith, Margaret Sangster, Ella Whealer Wilcox, Mary Wilkins, and Ida Tarbell. Many cards are also inscribed. Includes several duplicates. Toning and light staining to several cards, with residue on a few cards. Otherwise, the group is in good condition overall.

Miscellaneous American Authors. Group of fifteen visiting and business cards from an assortment of American authors including Theodore H. White, playwright Augustus Thomas, William Winter, B.P. Shillaber, Vachel Lindsay, Bess Streeter Aldrich, George Ade, Bronson Howard, Josh Billings, Newton Booth Tarkington, Charles Dudley Warren, and others. Each of the aforementioned cards has been signed, and many cards are inscribed. Accompanied by an unsigned E.R. Beadle card. Several cards are toned, with light stains. Still, the group is in very good condition overall.

Group of twenty-six visiting and correspondence cards from such modern literary authors as Ray Bradbury, Theodor Seuss Geisel (Dr. Seuss), Erskine Caldwell, Leon Uris, Irving Wallace, Mickey Spillane, Irving Stone, Leo Rosten, Edward Albee, Stephen Birmingham, Stringfellow Barr, James Cain, Bennett Cerf, Norman Cousins, Max J. Dimont, Alex Haley, Alexander Woolcott, and others. Includes several duplicates. All of the aforementioned cards have been signed. Accompanied by an unsigned Thomas Lanier Williams card. Toning to a few cards, with light folds on select cards. Otherwise the group is in very good to fine condition.

Group of nine signed business and correspondence cards from a variety of novelists, writers, and columnists including John Chamberlain, Ralph Ginzburg, Richard Harding Davis, Harriet Parsons, Poultney Bigelow, Parke Godwin, Lucius Beebe, Eliot Janeway, and Heywood Hale Broun. Many cards include inscriptions such as the short note written by Harriet Parsons regarding her mother Louella. Two cards are lightly soiled with residue at edges which do not affect signatures. Else, the group is in good condition.
