Lot 1021 Click on photo for enlarged version Click on photo for enlarged version
1897-O. NGC graded MS-64. This one is very well struck for the date, with full breast feathers and details in the curls over Liberty's ear. Probably in the top 50 known of the date, which is truly rare in any grade of mint state. Flashy luster and no signs of toning yet.
Estimated Value $7,000-7,500.

Lot 1022 Click on photo for enlarged version Click on photo for enlarged version
1897-O. PCGS graded MS-63. As a date, 1897-O is rare in any mint state grade, in fact, PCGS in their Population Report has graded just 96 this high, with 27 higher. This one has minor weakness at the centers, as usual for this date, and a touch of toning starting.
Estimated Value $2,400-2,800.

Lot 1023

1897-S. PCGS graded MS-66. A fine example for the advanced numismatist, this one has blazing luster and full white frost throughout. We note a tiny area of toning on the lower left reverse. Fully struck on the breast and Liberty, so don't miss out if you've been waiting for a truly wonderful example of this date. PCGS has graded 134 this high, with 20 graded higher.
Estimated Value $1,100-1,200.

Lot 1025

1898-S. NGC graded MS-66. A superb example of this rare date, few of which can even approach this grade. Note the delicate peripheral gold toning and abundant mint luster in the fields. Liberty's cheek is especially clean, with none of the usual distracting marks or blemishes. The NGC Population Report shows that only 3 have been so graded, with an additional single coin graded prooflike, and one other coin graded higher. Bid accordingly, as you are not likely to be offered a better coin.
Estimated Value $3,000-3,500.

Lot 1027

Estimated Value $400-500.
