Lot 2171

1911-D. NGC graded AU-58. A scarce date and this one just missed a mint state grade because of minor wear on the high points and minor circulation marks in the fields. Only 72,500
struck, and most are not this nice! .
Estimated Value $1,200-1,600.
Lot 2172

1911-S. NGC graded MS-63. Rich golden toning on both sides and this date is rare in full mint state grades. Most apparently entered circulation, and few survived in mint state. The "S"
is nicely formed, and not the blob often encountered. Scattered ticks, none deep or distracting.
Estimated Value $1,500-2,000.
Lot 2173
1911-S half eagle and 1857 $1 gold, both damaged. Both grade Very Fine, but both have been damaged, the half eagle with dents and heavy scratches, and the gold dollar has been holed and
repaired. Lot of 2 coins.
Estimated Value $150-175.
Lot 2174
1913. PCGS graded MS-62. Too bad this isn't a Liberty nickel. Nice gold luster and a few surface marks on the reverse accounting for the grade.
Estimated Value $300-350.
Lot 2175
1913. AU-50.
Estimated Value $160-180.
Lot 2176

1916-S. PCGS graded MS-64. Mintages cooled to 240,000 for 1916 as the United States geared up for World War I. Most of those struck circulated for years before being saved. Of all
places, a few bags turned up in El Salvador, and most of these were baggy mint state pieces. Not so here, the surfaces are clean and show few signs of handling. Deep coppery toning melds with the devices, and the Chief's cheek is full and
undiminished. Minor handling lines in the fields, but far and away better than most encountered. PCGS has graded 51 this high, with a scant 9 higher of the date. Color photo.
Estimated Value $4,500-5,500.
Lot 2177
1916-S. NGC graded AU-58. This one has dark specks on both sides, and apparently circulated just briefly. Minor bagmarks.
Estimated Value $300-350.
