The Comedy Troupe. With
a wink and a smile, this grouping of signed, black and white photographs
includes such comedians as Anna Russell, Leo De Lyon, Gus
Van, the Ritz Brothers, and Iggie Wolfington. Also included
is an unsigned photograph featuring George Goebel and Elaine Dunn while at the
piano, rehearsing for a musical. Most photographs measure 8 x 10", and all are
framed. Seven pieces in total. With only a few minor folds, the lot is in
overall fine to very fine condition.

Entertaining Ephemera.
This collection of photographs, both signed and otherwise, features some of
the famous faces of the past century. On 42 black and white images, we offer
the signatures of Gar Moore, Nina Foch, Alfred Ruscio,
Frank Faylen, Lise Hilboldt, Kate Manx, Ben
Wrigley, Don Rickles, Jeannette MacDonald, Sir John
Gielgud, Forrest Tucker (signing with a simple "Tuck"),
Milton Berle, Eddie Bracken, Joe E. Brown (shown with
Lefty O'Doule and a Seals ballplayer), Bill Cosby, Sammy Davis,
Jr., Phyllis Diller, Dody Goodman, Rex Harrison,
Katherine Helmond, Ian Richardson, and Gay Dawn; just to
name a few! With some 45 pieces in all, also included are two production stills
of Laurence Olivier; unsigned images of Don Rickles and Ann Blythe, among
others; Typed Letters Signed by Ian Richardson and Arthur
Hoppe(individually); and two signed photostats of a typed letter by Carl
Van Doren. Most photos measure 8 x 10", and are unframed. Ink on the Davis, Jr.
is just slightly faded and smeared. Otherwise, the lot is in very good
condition overall.
This vast assemblage of entertainment memorabilia was
collected through the years by the Bay Area publicity agent, Hanns Kolmar, as
evidenced in many of the personalized inscriptions.

Price, Vincent and Edward
G. Robinson. 1. Vincent Price. Signed Photo (" Vincent
Price"). Black and white, 5 x 7", n.p., n.d. Inscribed in black ink, "To
Dr. H. L. Smail / With all my thanks / and sincere good / wishes /
Sincerely." Very slight toning at edges, and one small abrasion at upper
left in margin. 2. Edward G. Robinson. Signed Photo ("Edward G.
Robinson"). Sepia toned, 8 x 10", n.p., n.d. Inscribed in black ink, "To
Dr. H. L. Smail / With all good wishes." A ¼" tear at center of right
edge, soft folds around edges. Overall, the pair is in fine
condition.
Here we offer a pair of signed photos for fans of "The Ten
Commandments" -- both Price and Robinson starred in the Biblical epic, Price as
"Baka" and Robinson as "Dathan".

Rolling Stones. Signed
Album Cover, "Their Satanic Majesties Request" ("Keith Richards",
"Mick Jagger", "Bill Wyman", "Charlie Watts "and "Brian
Jones"). Strong signatures in black pen on blue field. The front of the
cover is in very good condition, there is some use damage to the back and inner
boards.
Accompanied by a certificate (from Bottenfield & Bottenfield)
stating that the piece was signed in person and comes from the personal
collection of the late legendary rock promoter Bill Graham.

Science Fiction Standouts!
Leather weightbelt embossed "Sci - Fi" across the back, signed by some of
the most popular science fiction figures of the 1950s and 1960s. Paul Marco
and Conrad Brooks from Plan 9 From Outer Space, Jeff
Morrow, Lance Fuller, Rex Reason and Russell Johnson from This
Island Earth, Richard Webb ("Captain Midnight"), authors Robert
C. Clarke and Forrest J. Ackerman and the multi-talented John
Agar have signed in various colors of ink, all of the signatures are strong
and clear and Ackerman has shaded his. The weight belt shows a minor use, but
the signatures are fine.
These signatures, assembled from our
consignor's many friends in the movie business, reflect his interest in and
connections with science fiction actors and writers. This grouping of
signatures is impressive; a collection of some of the best known names from the
fabulous science fiction films of the 50s and two of the great writers of the
genre. The deaths of several of the signers truly make this a desirable rarity
among the science fiction cogniscenti.

Silent Screen Starlets.
Lot of eight pieces, all from the brightest stars of the early silver
screen. Lot includes two autograph signed letters from May Robson, one
is a poem called "Heart's Ease"; one autograph note signed by Corrine
Griffith , accompanied by a signed in plate publicity photograph; a
Gloria Swanson autograph on a small album page; a gorgeous Mae
Murray signed photo; a charming signed photo from Lina Basquette;
and two pieces from Lillian Gish: one signed photo and one autograph on
an album page. Conditions range from very good to fine.
A fabulous lot!
A poem in Robson's hand, three signed photos, an autograph from Corrine
Griffith on Schenck studio letterhead -- a wonderful group from Hollywood's
earliest days!

Here we offer a collection of nineteen signed, black and white photos from
a variety of crooners and songbirds including such vocalists as Pat
Boone, Giselle McKensie with Yuki Shinoda, Robert
Goulet, Fred Waring, Johnnie Ray, Hoagy Carmichael,
Tony Bennett, Steve and Eydie, Dorothy Collins, Eileen
Christy, Sid Caesar with Imogene Coca, Stubby Kaye,
Mike Nichols with Elaine May, Nana Mouskouri, Carlos
Montoya (includes a duplicate), Buffy St. Marie, Ed Ames, and
Pat O'Brien. Most measure 8 x 10", and each has been framed. Ink has
faded on the Caesar/Coca photo, the Nichols/May photo, and the Ames photo,
often times leaving only an imprint. Overall, the lot is in good condition.

A Star is Born
(United Artists, 1937) Lot of 21 black and white 10½ x 14" publicity
photographs, featuring images of Janet Gaynor and Frederick March and carefully
staged behind the scenes looks at the movie. These are very high-quality
reprints, probably dating from the 1950s or 1960s, presented in 15 x 18" mats.
All save one have been shrink-wrapped for protection. A treasure trove of
images from one of the most enduring stories of all time, made so by the
performances of Gaynor and March who are pictured so beautifully here.
