Lot 793

Arsall Cameo Glass Vase.
Height: 8". Acid-cut green blossoms and leaves on light pink background,
signed in cameo. Minor evidence of use inside neck, one very small area of
abrasion visible on close examination of leaves. Else, fine
condition.
French cameo glass came into its own in the late 19th century
and flourished through the Art Nouveau period: the gorgeous Art Nouveau styling
and wonderful colors that distinguish this signed vase are a signature of that
time. Although Arsall is not so well known as glassmakers Gallé or Daum
Nancy, his glass is equally beautiful and becoming more and more popular with
collectors.
Estimated Value $800-1,000.
Lot 794

Austrian Art Glass.
Probably Austrian two handled bowl. 3½" tall, 5" diameter.
Iridescent white cased with white. Applied reeded handles, green threading
around center of bowl with small purple decoration. Unsigned. Missing some
threading, four small chips at lip, small area of discoloration inside bowl at
bottom.
Estimated Value $250-300.
Lot 795

Cranberry and Opalescent
Hobnail Pitcher. Height: 9½". Ruffled upstanding rim, applied reeded
handle. Deep cranberry case with opalescent shading from clear to white at rim.
Excellent condition, a real showpiece.
Estimated Value $200-300.
Lot 796

Cranberry and Opalescent
Lemonade Pitcher. Circa 1890. Height: 7½". Leaves in the wind
design, applied crystal handle. Cranberry case shades from very light pink to
deep rose at top. A few signs of use, including one very small chip near the
handle. A small handful of visible bubbles. Overall, a very attractive pitcher
with beautiful color and simple lines that would be appropriate in either a
Victorian or modern setting.
Estimated Value $250-300.
Lot 797

Cut Glass Compote. 19th
century. Height: 4¾", diameter: 6". Glass cut with floral and lattice
motifs enhanced with gold paint. Unsigned. Polished pontil. In wonderful
condition, very little of the gold paint is scratched or missing.
An
absolutely lovely, compact serving piece with a mid-19th century design.
Estimated Value $150-250.
Lot 798

Durand King Tut Vase.
20" tall, 8" at widest point. Large iridescent green bulbous stick vase
with blue King Tut design, cased with amber iridescent glass. Signed "Durand /
1974 - 12" with proper "V". Two noteworthy flaws: one on the neck and the other
on the widest part of the body -- these appear to be from the factory. The
surface shows some wear, but otherwise the vase is in good to very good
condition.
Although Victor Durand only operated his glassworks from 1924
until his death in 1931 (the factory was sold in 1934), the operation managed
to produce some of the most striking glass of the 1920s.
Estimated Value
$900-1,500.
Ex: Superior Galleries, November 1997.
Lot 799

French-style Punch Cup
(Baccarat?) 19th century elaborately decorated pink glass punch cup with
applied gold glass feet, opalescent decoration and ornate gold trim. A
well-loved piece, the elaborate gold trim is worn throughout but the wonderful
shape and elaborate feet set this cup apart from other similar items. Obviously
produced for the very wealthy, this cup is of the highest quality and the
decoration makes it obvious it was to be used on formal occasions. A lovely
piece of the past.
Estimated Value $50-UP.
Lot 800

Glass Decanter with Silver
Overlay. Height: 7¾". Lovely green glass decanter with fabulous art
nouveau silver overlay. There is a long crack in the decanter, which is almost
totally obscured by the overlay, and the stopper is surely not original, but
this is a beautiful example of the combination of glass and silver.
Estimated Value $125-150.
Lot 801

Glass Goblets. Early
20th century. A beautiful set of eight blown-glass goblets, in varying shades.
An intricate gold Art Nouveau design, accented with white and other colors,
accentuates the flowing lines and graceful elegance of the glassware. An ideal
match with the Haviland China below, these beautiful pieces would also provide
a charming counterpoint to a more contemporary place setting or display case.
Varying amounts of wear to the paint, but overall this lot is in very good
condition.
Estimated Value $300-400.
Lot 802

Ivory Carder Steuben Signed
Vase. 7" tall, 9½" diameter at widest point. Ivory Carder glass
signed with acid etched Steuben fleur-de-lis. Two very small spots of factory
flaws (bubbles), otherwise fine condition.
Manufactured prior to 1932,
this lovely piece of Carder Steuben glass seems to flow into an elegant gather
which pools onto the surface on which it sits.
Estimated Value $600-700.
Lot 803

Lalique Vase. Height:
6", diameter: 4¼". Lalique vase with small, cute birds nesting in leaves.
"Lalique France" etched in base, "Made in France" paper label also present. One
small chip at rim blends into foliate design, becoming almost invisible. Very
good to fine condition.
A beautiful and very accessible piece of Lalique
glass.
Estimated Value $300-400.
Lot 804

Pair of Grape Bunches.
Lot of two. 6" long. Glass grapes in rich purple, probably meant as
decanters. Seam is faintly visible.
Attractive color and pleasing shape
for both pieces of this lot. These would be a very nice tabletop accent.
Estimated Value $25-UP.
Lot 805

Peach Blow Cased Compote
with Metal Base. Height: 6¾", diameter: 9". White ruffled candy dish
cased with rosy Peach Blow is unsigned. A screw-on silver metal base with
abstract motif around the edge is marked "EP NS". Minor abrasions inside a few
of the ridges, one abrasion on the outside, otherwise very good condition.
The metal base accents the peachy pink of the dish surprisingly well and
the overall effect is very nice, very late 19th century.
Estimated Value
$200-300.
Lot 806

Peach Blow Glass Bowl (Mt.
Washington?). Satin finish, 4¾" tall, 8½" diameter. Elegant
bowl shades from creamy ivory at base and feet to deep rose at ruffled rim.
Applied wishbone style feet are ribbed and enhanced with light pink accents.
Raspberry pontil. One small discoloration visible to side of center bottom of
bowl, otherwise fine condition.
The leaf-like appearance of the feet and
the curves of the bowl's rim give the impression of a flower folded open -- a
lovely effect.
Estimated Value $550-650.
Lot 807

Sandwich-attributed Lamp
Globe. Length: 7¼". Pink cased iridescent quilted globe. A beautiful
piece with good edges and lovely color. With a few minor flea bites to the
fitter but in otherwise fine condition, this shade just requires a minor
cleaning. A great Victorian accent attributed to one of the finest glassmakers
of the time.
Estimated Value $75-100.
