Estimated Value $500-750.

Lot 2547

Estimated Value $100-120.

Lot 2548
1889-S. PCGS graded MS-61 Prooflike. Blazing white in color, with well mirrored fields on both the obverse and reverse. On the obverse, there are several bagmarks, expected for the grade, and these show ever more because of the mirror fields. Still and impressive example.

Lot 2556
1891-CC. VAM-3, R-4. MS-64. A lovely, blazing white example of this scarce "spitting eagle" variety. We have several in this sale, and collectors would do well to purchase one or more for their sets or for trading. This one is particularly nice, with extra clean surfaces. These were from a small hoard of this popular and eye catching variety which were held together for many years, and haven't even been sent to the grading services.
Estimated Value $425-475.

Lot 2557
1891-CC VAM-3. R-4. MS-64. Hazy white in color, with sharply struck devices and excellent fields and surfaces for the grade. One of the best of this group of "Spitting Eagle's".
Estimated Value $425-475.

Lot 2558
1891-CC. PCGS graded MS-63. Hazy white luster and generally untoned, with clean surfaces and lots of eye appeal. Minor doubling on the reverse motto, as struck.
Estimated Value $240-275.

Lot 2559
1891-CC. VAM-3, R-4. MS-63. A choice white example of this variety. Good luster and clean surfaces throughout, the strike is sharp at the centers and the only weakness is noted at the edge beyond the dentils.
Estimated Value $250-275.

Lot 2560
1891-CC. VAM-3, R-4. MS-63 Semi prooflike. Our consignor must have loved the "spitting eagle" as his collection had several of them, but no regular 1891-CC Morgans. This one is hazy and white, with some minor staining on both sides, probably from an improper dipping.
Estimated Value $240-275.

Lot 2561
1891-CC. VAM-3, R-4. MS-63. A choice example of this popular "spitting eagle" (caused by a small die flaw below the eagle's beak). Bright and untoned, with gleaming luster.
Estimated Value $240-275.

Lot 2562
1891-CC. VAM-3, R-4. MS-63. Totally white and frosted on the devices, with clean surfaces too. One minor scrape down the back of Liberty's face, and a reeding mark on her chin are visible with a glass, but not apparent to the unaided eye. Excellent rims and eye appeal.
Estimated Value $240-275.

Lot 2563
1891-CC. VAM-3, R-4. MS-63. Frosty and white, another example of this popular variety for the collector.
Estimated Value $240-275.

Lot 2564
1891-CC. VAM-3, R-4. MS-63 Semi Prooflike. This one is reflective in the fields and shows good frost on the devices. Well stuck, and yet another example of the "spitting eagle" die flaw. This auction will provide and excellent opportunity to purchase one or more of these popular coins.
Estimated Value $240-275.

Lot 2565
1891-CC. VAM-3, R-4. MS-63. This is a nice, white, choice example of this popular variety. Sharp at the centers, although the extreme rims show minor softness above the dentils.
Estimated Value $240-275.

Lot 2566
1891-CC. MS-63. Toned with gray and sunset gold tones on both sides, with average surfaces for the grade. A tough date to locate.
Estimated Value $240-275.

Lot 2567
1891-CC. VAM-3, R-4. MS-60+. This is an example of the "spitting eagle" with a die gouge below the eagle's beak. Frosty and lustrous, with decent surfaces but we note one nick on the edge by the last star on the obverse.
Estimated Value $200-220.

Lot 2568
1891-CC. VAM-3, R-4. MS-60+. Another example of the "spitting eagle" with a curious die flaw strategically placed below his beak. Minor hairlines on the obverse.
Estimated Value $200-220.

Lot 2569
1891-CC. VAM-3, R-4. MS-60+. This one is bright and untoned, but has a small rim knock just past the M of UNUM on the obverse. Another "spitting eagle" variety.
Estimated Value $200-220.

Lot 2570
1891-CC. VAM-3, R-4. MS-60+. Clean surfaces and very lightly toned on the obverse, examination will note the obverse rim has been filed at the top, and this is minor. One for the album.
