Kann lists this coin as being of the
highest raity with 2 stars. This coin, and the next lot, were purchased about
20 years ago from a Swiss bank which obtained the two coins from a returning
missionary who spent
many years in China. Please note that this coin is plain edge but that the next
lot has a milled edge. Kann did not have this coin in his collection.

struck after the plain edge variety with a milled edge as the die seems to be
the same but started
to break up or become defective as a number of characters on the obverse are
incomplete. Kann lists this coin as being of the highest rarity with 2 stars

indicating the weight. This specimen
is virtually as struck with the official chopmark and only a few other
chopmarks. Nice even grayish toning. Very Rare. Choice Very Fine.
