Stunning 1840 No Drapery Liberty Seated Dime

Lot 230 Click on photo for enlarged version Click on photo for enlarged version
1840. No drapery. PCGS graded MS-67. One of the very finest graded of this date, and tied with just one other specimen for top honors from PCGS! Superb light blue and green toning on both sides over frosty luster. Boldly struck as well, and this is the common "chin whiskers" variety so named for the die file lines down from Liberty's chin to her shoulder. A stunning toned coin that will no doubt excite the type collector as well as the date specialist. In an old green insert PCGS holder.
Estimated Value $7,000-8,000.

1843. NGC graded MS-65. A satiny gem that is totally white in color, and fairly well struck for this date. Full stars and full curls on Liberty as well. Minor handling ticks in the fields.
Estimated Value $2,300-2,500.

Lot 232
1849. SEGS graded AU-55, our grade AU-50. Mottled gold toning on both sides over rough, gray surfaces.
Estimated Value $80-90.

Lot 233 Click on photo for enlarged version Click on photo for enlarged version
1858. NGC graded Proof 65. Deep gold toning at the rims, but blazing white frost on the devices. This one will likely become a "cameo" or "deep cameo" soon as the frost is especially thick on the devices. An important offering in gem grades, and this is a scarce, low mintage date.
Estimated Value $3,400-3,800.

Lot 234 Click on photo for enlarged version Click on photo for enlarged version
1859. PCGS graded Proof 65 Premium Quality. Deep blue gray toning on both sides of this gem proof dime. The stars and devices are all very sharp. Struck during the final year of the with stars obverse, as the legend appeared in 1860 for the regular issue dimes. PCGS has graded only 22 this high, with 20 graded higher.
Estimated Value $2,750-3,000.

One of the Finest 1860 Proof Cameo Liberty Seated Dimes

Lot 235 Click on photo for enlarged version Click on photo for enlarged version
1860 Tied for the Finest Graded. NGC graded Proof 68 Cameo. A sparkling white jewel that boasts superb surfaces and abundant mint frost. Further, only one other coin has been graded this high by NGC, that an identical PF-68 Cameo. From a technical standpoint, these aren't found better either, as the best regular proof issues graded are PF-68, with just 2 others seen that high. Devoid of toning, and a monumental coin for the specialist.
Estimated Value $6,000-UP.

Lot 236 Click on photo for enlarged version Click on photo for enlarged version
1875. PCGS graded MS-66. Magnificent deep blue, gold and rose toning on both sides. A stunning gem of which PCGS has graded 20 this high, and only 3 higher, all MS-67 above. Buy it for the color, and love it forever.
Estimated Value $800-1,000.

Lot 237 Click on photo for enlarged version Click on photo for enlarged version
1882. PCGS graded Proof 67. One of the finest graded of this date, PCGS has seen 6 this high with just a single coin graded above, plus one other as PR-66 UC. Deep blue and gold toning throughout, and nearly perfect surfaces, as expected. In PCGS holder #3569582.
Estimated Value $2,600-2,800.

Lot 238 Click on photo for enlarged version Click on photo for enlarged version
1887. NGC graded Proof 66. Deep blue and rose gold toning on both sides of this gem! Not only is the color very appealing, but the surfaces are a delight too. Worth a strong bid for the appealing color and surfaces.
Estimated Value $1,200-1,400.

Lot 239 Click on photo for enlarged version Click on photo for enlarged version
1891. PCGS graded MS-66. Light golden toning on the left side of the obverse and reverse, white otherwise. Boldly struck and scarce this nice. We note this is housed in the old green insert PCGS holder.
Estimated Value $1,100-1,300.

Lot 240
1891. MS-64. Full and attractive luster on this specimen, and completely untoned. Curiously weak on Liberty's head, as struck, sharp elsewhere.
Estimated Value $200-250.
