Fr-1251-SP. 1864, 10¢ Fractional Currency. Third Issue. Also Fr-1291-SP and Fr-1294 SP reverse. A nice selection of specimen notes for the collector. Lot of 3 notes. Extremely Fine to About Uncirculated.

Fr-1272-SP. 1869, 15¢ Fractional Currency. Fourth Issue, popular for the Sherman and Grant vignette. A lovely note for the specialist. Choice Crisp Uncirculated, with wide margins.

Fr-1273-SP 1276-SP. 1869, 15¢ Fractional Currency, red reverse only, wide margins and Fr-1376, 50¢ CU with 2 small pin h. A nice pair for the collector. Lot of 2 notes.

Fr-1283-SP. 1863, 25¢ Fractional Currency. Second Issue. A pair, one of the obverse, the other the reverse. Traces of mount removal on both notes. Printed on CSA watermark paper. Lot of 2 notes. Crisp Uncirculated.

Fr-1283-SP. 1863, 25¢ Fractional Currency. Second Issue, narrow margin Specimens, 1 obverse, 1 reverse. Faint traces of glue on the backs, otherwise choice. Lot of 2 notes. Crisp Uncirculated.

Lot 1214
Fr-1314-SP. 1863, 50¢ Fractional Currency. Second Issue. Narrow margins, 1 obverse, 1 reverse. Printed on CSA watermarked paper and having the word SPECIMEN on back of each. The paper for these notes came from a shipment that was sent from England during the Civil War but the ship was captured by the Union Naval blockade, and the contraband paper for the Confederate States of America was captured, and put to good use, such as the notes offered here. Portions of the CSA watermark are present on both Specimens in this lot. Lot of 2 notes. Crisp Uncirculated.

Lot 1215
Circa 1862-65 Confederate States of America watermarked paper captured during the Civil War. This large sheet of paper (unfolded approximately 16" X 12+") has the C.S.A. watermark in several locations, and this paper was destined for the Confederacy to be made into currency. With the Union embargo of the Confederacy, the British ship which was carrying the paper was captured and the paper seized as illegal contraband. After the war, some of this paper came to light, much to the delight of todays collector.
