Lot 275 1964-D Error Jefferson nickel, struck on a Lincoln cent planchet. MS-60+. Beautiful reddish blue copper hues throughout, with just a couple of minor handling ticks. Good luster and date and mintmark are quite plain, which often isn't the case on these off planchet errors. The planchet weighs 3.08 grams. Estimated Value $100-UP. |

Lot 276 1967. SMS. PCGS graded MS-67. Outstanding color on both sides, and just 7 graded higher, although somewhat available in this grade with over 100 seen. Few would boast such lovely satiny blue and gold toning on both sides as seen here. We note this is the rare broken U of UNITED variety from overzealous die lapping. Struck during the dark anti-collector days of the United States Mint which came about from the massive hoarding during the early 1960s roll boom and subsequent bust. Estimated Value $200-250. |
