Morgan Dollars (1891-1895)

Lot 955      1891. PCGS graded MS-64. A marvelously toned specimen exhibiting lovely rainbow colors quite vividly on both sides.
Estimated Value $2,400-2,600.
 
Lot 956      1891. PCGS graded MS-64. Lustrous and bright, with a touch of gold starting to form on both sides.
Estimated Value $300-350.
 
Lot 957      1891. VAM-2, Doubled Ear variety. PCGS graded MS-63 Deep Mirror Prooflike. Strong contrast and very well struck, with a touch of gold at the rims. A couple of minor nicks on the cheek.

Lot 958      1891-CC. PCGS graded MS-64. Really nice color and fresh on Liberty's cheek. One hidden scrape on the left wing of the eagle from gem.

Lot 959      1891-CC. AU-50. Pleasing color and nice surfaces, but there are a couple of rim bumps.

Lot 960      1892-CC. AU-50. A scarce date in slightly circulated grade.

Lot 961      1892-S. PCGS graded AU-55 Premium Quality. Nice luster with the cheek of Liberty remarkably free from marks. Only the slightest evidence of friction appears on the eagle's breast feathers. Rare key date, particularly in this high grade.

Lot 962      1893. PCGS graded AU-50. Some luster in the fields and well struck by the dies. Light gold at the edge.

Lot 963      1893. VF-25. Light gray with darker highlights near the devices.

Lot 964      1893-CC. MS-64. A totally brilliant and very choice example featuring a mix of frosty and semi-reflective mint luster. Liberty's cheek is quite clean and there are no contact marks worthy of note. Cracked out from an old PCGS holder and is accompanied by the green insert tag.

Lot 965      1893-CC. Fine-12. Natural gray color and reasonably well preserved despite rather protracted circulation.

Lot 966      1893-CC. VG-8. A few nicks and bumps expected for the grade, but a scarce date, even in this grade.

Lot 967      1893-O. PCGS graded MS-63. One of the scarce dates from this very popular series. This particular coin is totally white and lustrous, with an average strike on the high points. Identifiable by a minor planchet streak through the tail just above the branch on the reverse.

Lot 968      1893-O. PCGS graded EF-45. Lustrous and well preserved for this scarce date.

Lot 969      1893-O and1895-O, both grade G-5. Lot of 2 coins. Each is toned a medium gray, and both are scarce. Lot of 2 coins.

High Grade 1893-S Morgan Dollar

Lot 970      1893-S. ANACS graded AU-50. A very pleasing problem-free example. Well struck with the friction evenly distributed on the upper curls, and of coarse, on the eagle's breast feathers. The rims are perfect and the surfaces are free from all marks worthy of note. Traces of mint luster remain around the protected areas of the devices and all is lightly toned.

Lot 971      1893-S. VF-35. A bold example with some light marks about the face and rims, all lightly toned.

Lot 972      1894-O. PCGS graded MS-64. Golden toning on the obverse, the reverse with deeper gold and peripheral blue. Lots of lovely color here.
Estimated Value $4,000-5,000.
 
Lot 973      1894-O. PCGS graded AU-55. Lustrous and bright, with a touch of peripheral gold toning. Somewhat weak on the lower reverse.
Estimated Value $120-140.
 
Lot 974      1894-S. NGC graded MS-64. Well struck with sparkling frosty mint luster. A touch of light tone is just starting to form. We note that this dollar is housed in an older NGC holder.

Lot 975      1895-O. NGC graded AU-58. Just a whisper away from full mint state. Light to medium sunset toning further adds to this coin's appeal. Popular semi-key date and difficult to locate much better.

Lot 976      1895-O. PCGS graded EF-45. Light peripheral gold, otherwise light silver in color.

Lot 977      1895-O. VF-35. Bright and untoned, and decent surfaces for the grade.

Lot 978      1895-S. PCGS graded MS-64. A very choice frosty mint example of this scarce semi-key date. In an older green instert PCGS holder.

Lot 979      1895-S. PCGS graded VF-30. Mostly bright, with a touch of gold toning near the rims. Scarce and in demand even in circulated grades.

Lot 980      1895-S. Fine-15. Light gray and less wear than expected for the grade.
