Brutus, d. 42 BC. AR Denarius, traveling mint, Smyrna (?), c. early 42 BC. Axe, simpulum, and sacrificial knife; BRVTVS below. Reverse: Jug and lituus; below, LENTVLVS SPINT. Craw. 550/7; RSC 6. Lightly toned, with faint IVV graffiti in reverse left field. Apparently small edge test cut at top. Very Fine. Very scarce.
