Lot 980        Set of Partial Mint Sets, all in black holders. Lot of 34 coins. Includes the Cent through the Half Dollar for the following years: 1939, 1941-D, 1943, 1944, 1945-P, 1945-D (missing the Half Dollar), and 1945-S. All of the coins are nice, original, toned pieces, although a couple of the Cents are spotted.

Lot 981        1892. 6 Piece Proof Set. Cent thru Dollar. Proof 63 or better. Lot of 6 coins. A stunning proof set, all delicately toned and well matched, possibly an original set. The cent (RB) is magenta with iridescent golden highlights and is spot-free. The nickel is also spot free and exhibits light iridescent toning. The silver dime, quarter, half and dollar are similarly toned exhibiting a mixture of warm sunset hues. Only 1245 sets were made and the great majority have long been broken up. Popular as the inaugural year for the dime, quarter and half dollar Barber design (Photo).

Lot 988        1942. Lot of 6 coins. Cent, PR-64 Red; Nickel, PR-66; 1942-P Silver Nickel, PR-66; 1942 Dime, PR-66; 1942 Quarter, PR-66; Half Dollar, PR-66. All untoned except for the Silver Nickel, which has a light, double-sided filmy toning. The Cent has numerous, microscopic carbon spots on the obverse.

Lot 992        1970. No"S" Proof Set. Lot of 5 coins. Contains the no "S" mint mark dime. In the original government issue holder.

Lot 995        1983 No-S Dime Proof Set. All Coins are Choice Cameo Proof. Lot of 5 coins. In the original case of issue. The Dime lacks the usual "S" mintmark because workers at the Philadelphia Mint (responsible for adding the mintmark to the die) left it off! The mintage of the No-S Dimes is unknown, but apparently quite low. In 1987, Breen noted that about 100 Proof Sets with the No-S Dime had been found. Today, more than fifteen years later, PCGS has certified only about 50 examples; NGC, about 20.

All mounted in a custom blue plastic holder entitled "Memories from 1909".

Lot 997        Type Coin Colleection: ICG graded VF-25. Lot of 6 coins. 1853 Arrows Half Dime, 1860 Half Dime, 1838 No Drapery Dime, 1831 Quarter Dollar, 1838 No Drapery Quarter Dollar, and 1853-O Arrows & Rays Half Dollar. Mixed condition, mostly Very Fine or so, some cleaned long ago. Worth a look.
