Ex: This lovely coin was produced at a time when Euainetos, Eucleidas, and Eumenes were all working at the Syracusan mint, and all in a similar style, making it somewhat risky to assign the dies to any one engraver in particular..

Reverse: Head of Arethus right, four dolphins around; ethnic at upper left; retrograde and flanking neck, E - V, for Eumenes. Cf. SNG ANS 304. A few minor horn silver-like deposits on obverse, with areas of the flan showing slight to moderate porosity. This coin was obviously prized for its quality of artwork, and was once set into a mount or frame -- the edge showing some shaping and truing to a perfectly round flan. With pleasant old collection toning. About Very Fine. Rare and important (Photo)

Reverse: Nike standing right and holding hammer, erecting a trophy of arms; name of Agathokles at left. Cf. SNG ANS 680. A few areas of light porosity on obverse, otherwise metal good. Lightly toned. Lot 1490        Sicily, Syracuse. Philistis, wife of Hieron II, 274-216 BC. AR 16 Litrai (13.5 g), struck c. 216-215 BC. Veiled and diademed bust of Philistis left, small ear of grain behind. Reverse: Nike drives fast quadriga right, lunar crescent above horses, ear of grain at groundline; queen's name and title above and below. SNG ANS 882 (same dies). Obverse die shows deterioration. Reverse delightful and sharp! Lustrous, with iridescent gray toning. Choice Extremely Fine (Photo).

Reverse: Scallop shell at center of incuse Cop. 388; SNG ANS 300. Metal with areas of heavy porosity, but flan complete and strike sharp. Comes with very old coin ticket. Very Fine. Rare (Photo).
