11    North Carolina, 5 May 1779, $25. A very scarce note, and while the note does face up well, the split on the back as been repaired with old tape that has yellowed. Good.

12    New Jersey, 9 Jun. 1780, $3, Signed by David Brearly. David Brealey (1745-1790), Signer of the U.S. Constitution in 1787. He took part in the controversy of the colonies with Great Britain, and was arrested for high treason, but was set free by a mob of his fellow-citizens. He was a member of the first convention to frame a constitution prior to 1781, and an officer in the revolutionary army. In 1779, he was elected chief justice of New Jersey, resigning in 1789, when he was appointed U.S. district judge. Very Fine to Extremely Fine.

13    Virginia, 16 Oct. 1780, $500 or £150. A very scarce note in a very nice grade. Thin paper and signed by J. Hopkins. Very Fine.

14    Continental, 14 Jan. 1779, $35. Together with Pennsylvania, 10 Apr. 1777, Three Pence. The Continental note would grade at least a Fine, but it does have a large tear. Net grade for the note: Good+; The Pennsylvania Three Pence is clean and very nice. Extra Fine. Lot of 2 notes.
