1934    1929-D Uncentered Broadstrike. PCGS graded MS-64. Without a collar to prevent the spread of metal, the planchet on this error coin is now oversized, with a wide margin on the right side of both the obverse and the reverse. This is a particularly choice example of the error type, yet it is still quite affordable.
Estimated Value $300-400.

1935    1929-S. PCGS graded MS-66 Full Bands. This one nudges perfection back a little more. Lightly toned with gold over fresh luster and nearly perfect surfaces. PCGS has graded 59 as such, with 6 graded a notch higher. This one will stand up to any scrutiny.
Estimated Value $500-600.
From the Benson collection and purchased from James Macallister on September 25, 1944 in a partial collection of Mercury dimes for $100.00.

"Almost There" 1942/1 Dime

1959    1942. 2 over 1. PCGS graded MS-66. A blazing, pure white Gem example of this rare and desirable overdate variety. The "almost there" in our title refers to the center bands on the reverse, which are as close to being Fully Split as bands can be (oh ,what just a little more separation would do to the price of this coin)! Nevertheless, we must not lose sight of the importance of this piece. It is the only MS-66 example certified by PCGS and none have been graded finer. Even in MS-66 FB, PCGS reports only 6 examples, with none finer. Considering that a 1919-D Dime recently sold for $212,500 at auction, we wonder what this example is now worth.
Estimated Value $13,000-15,000.
