2348 1846, 6 over horizontal 6. NGC graded MS-62. A boldly struck specimen with the horizontal 6 clearly visible. Mostly white and frosty with a touch of light violet tone about the borders on both sides. A rare and very popular Red Book variety. Pop of 2 with 2 in MS-63, 3 in MS-64 and 1 in MS-65. Estimated Value $5,750-6,250.

2349 1851. NGC graded MS-66. Flecks of blue color are sprinkled liberally on the obverse of this colorful Gem. The outer peripheries of both the obverse and the reverse feature a lovely, russet-red toning that is simultaneosly impressive and attractive. Fully struck details. Gorgeous, frosty surfaces, with a rich, creamy luster. Tied for the finest certified by either PCGS or NGC, where both report single MS-66 examples. A superb quality type coin. Estimated Value $15,000-20,000.

2352 1854-O. Arrows. NGC graded MS-65. A trifle soft at the head and upper stars as struck with absolutely pristine surfaces throughout. All is overlaid with a natural blending of grayish-violet with electric blue iridescence at the borders. Pop of 13 with 8 in MS-66, 1 in MS-67 and 2 in MS-68. Estimated Value $5,000-5,500.

2354 1857. PCGS graded MS-64. Toned on the obverse in a shimmering, lilac-rose pastel; the reverse is mostly white and brilliant. Excellent eye appeal and strike for the date. PCGS reports 18 in this grade and only 6 finer (all in MS-65). Estimated Value $1,500-1,700.
