2398    1893. PCGS graded Proof 63 Cameo. PQ. A pure white Gem. The obverse is nearly a Deep Cameo; the reverse is slightly less brilliant than the obverse, but is just as technically impressive.

2404    1897. NGC graded Proof 66 Ultra Cameo. Bright and untoned, with impressive, black-and-white contrast on both sides, easily earning the Ultra Cameo designation. Perfect for type purposes. NGC reports 2 at this level and only 14 examples finer in Ultra Cameo.

2405    1897. NGC graded Proof 61. Platinum white in appearance and appears to be nicer than just a PR-61. A total of 731 proofs made.

2409    1898. PCGS graded Proof 64 Cameo. Premium Quality. Heavy cameo contrast on both sides of this nearly pure white example. Very choice for the grade. PCGS reports only 9 Cameos in this grade and only 8 higher.

2410    1899. NGC graded Proof 64 PQ. A gorgeous proof specimen with excellent cameo contrast. The centeres are golden with electric blue iridescence at the borders. A total of 846 were made. Certainly deserving of our Premium Quality designation. In an old holder.

2416    1904. PCGS graded Proof 64 PQ. A spectacular and beautifully toned proof specimen. Liberty is highlighted in shades of light gold radiating outwards to hues of rose and terminating in electric blue. The reverse is similarly toned. The few faint hairlines visible under magnification appear to be on the 1st generation PCGS holder. A total of 670 were made.

2419    1905. PCGS graded MS-65. A snow-white Gem, with drifts of creamy luster on both sides. Very nicely struck and fully detailed. A scarce date in MS-65 and almost impossible to find nicer. PCGS reports a mere 7 coins in this grade, 4 in MS-66, and only 2 in MS-67!

Bright and well-struck, with a tinge of golden color on both sides. The true rarity of these Gems has been revealed over the years (thanks to the compilations created by the grading services), and they are now being rewarded with the impressive prices they deserve.

2439    1914. Brilliant Proof 60 Plus. Irregular mottled toning, particularly on the reverse. This coin might benefit from a proper dipping. With a mintage of 380, this ranks as the lowest mintage proof in the series.
