during the golden era of Hollywood. Won an Oscar in 1945 for her performance in Mildred Pierce.

Autograph Letter Signed. One page, 7 x 10", on her personal

Ca.) A wonderfully exuberant and playful letter, transcribed in full:
"This is just a
note as I'm getting ready to start 'Gorgeous Hussy' hundreds of costumes. / Since you love
music so much - I'm sorry you couldn't have been here for the reception we gave for Stokowski
- Even if [husband] Franchot and I did give it it really was fun and I'm afraid quite successful -
Stokowski drops by our house quite often - and we've had very interesting talks - / Don't you envy
me? / More later / Joan Love".
Fine.
Estimated Value $200-300.
