A collection of twenty-six items relating to the Spanish-American War, including the book, The Authentic Photographic Views of the United States Navy and Scenes of the Ill-Fated Maine, by E. H. Hart, Chicago, 1898, oblong Octavo, 192 pages; seventeen medallions honoring Dewey, "Remember the Maine," Veterans Meetings, and others; two antique silver souvenir spoons, one commemorating the Flagship Olympia at the Battle of Manila Bay, with a portrait of Admiral Dewey, the other the US Battleship Massachusetts; a folding hand fans honoring General Nelson Miles; three lovely decorated silks, honoring Dewey, Gridley, and an especially elaborate silk of the USS Olympia; and two antique sewing needle kits that feature American officers and the "USS Olympiad" on the covers. Condition is on average Fine, with the hand fan depicting General Miles being partially torn.
