Reportedly Unique!

Lot 2729 Click on photo for enlarged version
Fr. 2126-E, 1996, $50.00 Federal Reserve Note, Security Thread on Outside. The security thread, which is placed in the middle as the paper is being made, somehow was placed on the top of the paper. The paper fibers are adhering to the security thread, but one could easy remove the security thread if he wanted. After many examinations over a two day period, the note is without a doubt authentic. While looking into books and making a number of phone calls, a few experts had heard about this type of error, but none had seen and thus thought to be unique. Extremely Fine to About Uncirculated.
Estimated Value $2,000-UP.
