1832. Small letters. Newcomb-1, Rarity-2. PCGS graded AU-58 and Del Bland graded AU-55. With a very small low spot opposite the forelock. Lovely medium light chocolate brown surfaces, sharply struck and free from abrasions except for a few microscopic ones on the face. Mislabled "Large Letters" on the PCGS insert.

Lot 682
1832. Small letters. Newcomb-1, Rarity-2. PCGS graded AU-55 and Del Bland graded EF-40. Medium and light chocolate brown, the latter faded from mint color. Nice surfaces with verdigris (removable) around some letters and on the neck is a line of three tiny nicks. The label is in error as a "Large Letters".

1832. Small letters. Newcomb-1, Rarity-2. Del Bland graded AU-50. The obverse is medium brown mixed with dark brown producing a wood grain effect, the reverse is a uniform darkish steel brown. Pleasing surfaces without any abrasions worthy of mention except for a couple tiny dents on the jaw.

1832. Small letters. Newcomb-1, Rarity-2. Del Bland graded EF-45. Darkish chocolate brown surfaces nearly perfect in every respect although opposite the chin is an ancient, faint diagonal scratch. Sharply struck and a quality cent.

1832. Small letters. Newcomb-1, Rarity-2. Del Bland graded EF-45. Sharper by five points but from the top of the head to a dentil is a long hairline scratch and near star eleven is a small nick. Medium dark chocolate brown.

1832. Small letters. Newcomb-1, Rarity-2. Del Bland graded EF-40. Medium chocolate brown with pleasing surfaces for the grade. Sharp.

1832. Small letters. Newcomb-1, Rarity-2. Del Bland graded EF-40. On the neck is a small nick and elsewhere on both sides are a few handling marks consistent with the grade. Darkish steel brown with cordovan brown undertones.

1832. Small letters. Newcomb-1, Rarity-2. Del Bland graded VF-35. Light and medium brown, the latter color on the reverse. Clean and attractive.

1832. Small letters. Newcomb-1, Rarity-2. Del Bland graded VF-35. Sharpness of AU-55 but lightly porous with some very light burnishing and a scratch opposite the end of the nose. Dark steel brown, tan high points.

1832. Small letters. Newcomb-1, Rarity-2. Del Bland graded VF-35. With some blunt striking. On the face is a hairline scratch, opposite the forehead are two more and over the left side of star nine is a small edge dent. Darkish steel brown.

1832. Small letters. Newcomb-1, Rarity-2. Del Bland graded VF-25. Medium light brown surfaces that reveal under a glass some minuscule handling marks consistent with the grade.

1832. Small letters. Newcomb-1, Rarity-2. Del Bland graded VF-25. Up from the corner of the eye is a scratch and over the right side of N in ONE is a small nick. Darkish chocolate brown.

1832. Small letters. Newcomb-1½, Rarity-2. Del Bland graded VF-35. Double Profile. Very nice darkish steel brown and well struck surfaces. Double outlines on the chin, lips and stars eight to twelve.

Lot 694
1832. Small letters, triple profile. Newcomb-1¾, Rarity-2. Del Bland graded EF-40. Five points sharper but between the stem and A are some noticeable scratches. Darkish chocolate brown. Triple outlines on the end of the nose and on the lips, double on the forehead, nose, chin and lightly on the lower jaw.

1832. Small letters. Newcomb-2, Low Rarity-3. PCGS graded MS-63 Brown. A beautiful example of this date and variety. The surfaces are steel blue and glossy, with lovely color and surfaces. One tick mark is hidden on the inner point of the seventh star, and another on the eighth star. The U of UNITED appears to be cut over an erroneous A, perhaps the die engraver started AMERICA, then realized he first needed to put in STATES OF. Don't miss this one.

1832. Small letters. Newcomb-2, Low Rarity-3. Del Bland graded MS-60. Light brown surfaces somewhat softly impressed and heavily flowlined from a late state of the dies with a light die crack from the base of E in CENT to the leaf below. Nearly pristine but on the face near the curl is a tiny nick.

1832. Small letters. Newcomb-2, Low Rarity-3. Del Bland graded AU-55. Mint state sharpness but cleaned and beautifully retoned to an iridescent steel blue and red color, the red mostly on the reverse. Sharply struck and very attractive.

1832. Small letters. Newcomb-2, Low Rarity-3. PCGS graded AU-50. Dark brown in color with clean surfaces save for a couple of short, trivial scratches on the reverse.

Lot 700
1832. Small letters. Newcomb-2, Low Rarity-3. Del Bland graded EF-40. Sharper by five points but across the nose and face is a diagonal pin scratch which blends quite well into the patina. Dark steel brown, lighter high points and softly struck showing flow lines on both sides.

Spectacular Obverse Brockage From the Picker Collection

1832. Small letters, obverse brockage error. Newcomb-2, Low Rarity-3. Del Bland graded VF-35. Five points sharper but on the brockage side is an edge dent and between stars ten and eleven is a smaller one. Smooth dark chocolate brown surfaces and a great mint error.
One of the highlights of this 1832 specialty collection, and certain to bring much pride to its future owner as well.

Lot 702
1832. Small letters. Newcomb-2, Low Rarity-3. Del Bland graded VF-35. A bit sharper but on the obverse are several abrasions including a nick near star two. Orange brown obviously faded from mint color with traces of a darker brown overtone. Sharp.
