Lot 1190

1893 Isabella Quarter Dollar. PCGS graded MS-63 Premium Quality. Here is a coin that boasts ample mint frost and luster, and exceptional surfaces for the moderate grade assigned. Mostly
white in color, we note peripheral gold toning on the upper obverse and lower reverse. This coin is probably undergraded, so prospective buyers should look it over carefully to make up their own minds as to its value.
Estimated Value $450-500.
Lot 1191
1893 Isabella Quarter Dollar. NGC graded MS-63. Mottled gold and gray toning throughout. A highly appealing example for the grade, with a good strike and clean surfaces despite the
moderate grade.
Estimated Value $400-500.
Lot 1192

1900 Lafayette Dollar. PCGS graded MS-64. Hazy luster that is just starting to tone on both sides. Nicely struck, with some details on the boot, and sharp elsewhere. Nearly a gem, with
few bagmarks or signs of handling found even with a glass. This early commemorative is often found with numerous bagmarks and most were mishandled by the early collecting public, not so here, the surfaces remain quite fresh despite a century since
its issue.
Estimated Value $2,000-2,500.
Lot 1193
1900 Lafayette Dollar. AU-58. Nice luster and clean surfaces on both sides, with light toning starting to form around the edges. Typical strike, with the heavy die polish lines present
in the fields which are usually seen.
Estimated Value $250-300.
Lot 1194

1921 Alabama Half Dollar, with 2 x 2. NGC graded MS-65. Sharply struck and lightly toned on each side. This one is in an old NGC holder, with the green insert. Examination notes clean
surfaces and few signs of contact. Scarce this nice.
Estimated Value $1,200-1,400.
Lot 1195

1921 Alabama Half Dollar, no 2 x 2. NGC graded MS-65. Bright and untoned, with strong luster in the fields and clean surfaces. One of the scarcer commemoratives to find in gem
condition. NGC has graded 113 this high with just 12 graded higher, not many gems to go around. This one has an average strike, but is quite well preserved.
Estimated Value $1,200-1,400.
Lot 1196
1936 Albany Half Dollar. PCGS graded MS-66. Cloudy gray toning on both sides and very nice. Excellent surfaces that show few handling marks. A high end gem! Don't miss it.

Lot 1197
1936 Albany Half Dollar. MS-63. Hazy toning starting to form over bright white luster in the fields.
Estimated Value $125-150.
Lot 1198

1936 Albany Half Dollar with the original paper holder of issue. The coin itself grades Mint State 65, while the paper holder grades Very Fine. On the front of the paper holder someone
has written "10/15/37 $2.00 each" in pretty purple ink. Inside the holder there is room for 5 coins, with the curious paper tabs which held them in place, and these sames tabs are the things that produced the unusual "tab" toning seen on several
commemoratives (many in this sale in fact). The sulfer content in the paper is the active chemical which makes coins tone. This particular coin boasts golden toning on the reverse, and streaky gold on the obverse. This lot contains 1 coin and 1
holder.
Estimated Value $250-UP.
Lot 1199
1937 Antietam Half Dollar. MS-63. A couple of minor ticks on the reverse, but good luster and light gold toning.
Estimated Value $300-330.
Lot 1200
[1937 Antietam Half Dollar] holder only (no coin). The paper holder grades Very Fine or better. In pretty red ink someone has noted "Rec'd 9/28/37- cost 1.65". The committee names are
on the front of the holder and few of these are seen anymore, most having been discarded as they wore out or were lost during countless moves. The holder appears to have been used for just one single coin, although it could hold up to five coins.
Estimated Value $75-100.
Lot 1201

Lot 1207

1938 PDS Arkansas Half Dollar Set Plus the Original Box of Issue! The three coins grade Mint State-65 each and the box grades Fine. An unusual find, most of these boxes were discarded
years ago and are seldom available, the box is covered in a thin paper which has the appearance of oak, which shows some wear on the corners. The paper hinge is worn but still functions. Obviously, this box is fragile, which no doubt accounts for
how few of them were saved! Inside the box is a dark blue felt holder with insets for the 3 coins. The coins themselves are all toned and appear to have never been dipped. Lot of 3 coins and 1 box.
Estimated Value $1,000-1,200.
Lot 1208
