right. Reverse: Armed horseman riding down Macedonian warrior, monogram
at upper left, king's name in exergue. Dewing 1230 var; BMC p. 2, 6; Sotheby's
"Paeonian Hoard," 344. Edge die break on reverse, from 4 o' clock to 6 o'
clock, along with small knock in right field. Light russet to steel gray
toning. The sharply struck reverse of decidedly superior style for this series.
An artistic example of type. Extremely Fine, the reverse choice.

BC. Head of deified Alexander the Great right, with diadem and horn of
Ammon at ear. Reverse: Athena enthroned left, arm on shield and holding
Nike; monogram beneath hand. Cf. SNG Cop. 1083 for monogram. Choice centering
on a broad round flan. Boldly and fully struck, the portrait in a fine, later
and very realistic style. Lustrous. Superb Extremely Fine. Splendid!

- 282/1 BC. Head of deified Alexander the Great right, with diadem and
horn of Ammon at ear. Reverse: Athena enthroned left, arm on shield and
holding Nike; torch at left. Thompson 43. Choice centering on a broad round
flan. Boldly and fully struck in a fine restrained, elegant yet realistic
style. Light, slightly iridescent toning. Good Extremely Fine. One of
the finest overall examples we've ever handled!
