Reverse: Zeus Nikephoros enthroned left, holding scepter and Nike figure; letters at left and far left field. BMC 5 var.; SMA 359. On tight flan; cleaned. Fine, reverse better. Scarce.

Seleucid Kingdom. Lot of Three AE and AR Coins, c. 175-129 BC. First, an AE 32 of Antiochus IV, 175-164 BC.: Laureate head of Zeus-Serapis right / Eagle right on thunderbolt (BMC p. 38, 42). In addition, an AR Tetradrachm of Antiochus VII, 138-129 BC.: Diademed head right / Athena Nikephoros left (SNG Cop. 317 var). Also, an AE 14 of Antiochus VII, struck in Jerusalem, under John Hyrcanus I: Upside down anchor, Greek inscription ("of King Antiochus, Benefactor") / Lily (Hendin 451). Coins grade from Very Fine Very Fine plus.

Reverse: Zeus enthroned left, holding scepter, being crowned by Nike held in his outstretched hand; date in exergue (year 5?). Cf. RPC 4129. Good strike on above average metal. Faintly toned. Extremely Fine.

Also, a Drachm, struck 170/169 BC.: Top view of bee / Stag standing before date palm (BMC 151). Some surface roughness, deeply toned. First, Fine; second Choice Very Fine.

Phoenicia. Byblos. Azbaal, c. 350-333 BC. AR Dishekel (12.9 g). War galley left, with lion's head prow ornament, carrying three armed hoplites; below, hippocamp left, murex shell beneath. Reverse: Lion attacking bull left; above, "Azbaal, King of Gebal." SNG Cop. 132; SNG Fitzwilliam 6028. Well centered and struck up, and lustrous. Minor reverse porosity, with some edge corrosion, but overall a much superior coin to the masses of market examples seen of late. Choice Extremely Fine.
