Ancient Rome. Before 4th century BC. AE Aes Rude. Roughly formed cast bronze fragment, strongly resembling a faulty casting of an astragalos, or knucklebone. With green and earthen patina. Cf. Thurlow-Vecchi, Italian Cast Coinage, pl. 2. Intact, and as made. Choice Very Fine.

Republican Rome. Anonymous, AR Quadrigatus, c. 213-212 BC. Laureate head of Janus. Reverse: Jupiter in quadriga right, driven by Victory. RSC 24b; Craw. 28/3. Also, an Anonymous AE Uncia, c. 217-215 BC: Radiate facing bust of Sol / Crescent, stars, pellet; Craw. 39/4; Syd. 96. Lastly, an AE Litra, c. 235-230 BC: Laureate head of Apollo / Galloping horse left; Craw. 26/3; Syd. 29. Silver toned, on quite decent metal. Uncia, some roughness to green patina. Lot of 3 coins.
