narrow shields, and twin spears; inscription around. Reverse: Palm tree
of six branches, two date clusters below; inscription: BRIT above, date across
field below. Hendin 652; AJC II, Supp. V, 29. Dark brown and green patina, with
earthen highlights. Well centered, bold strike. Extremely Fine.
Estimated Value $150-200.
The inscription on the reverse refers to
Britannicus, the younger, ill-fated son of Claudius. Coins bearing his portrait
are execessively rare, and this coin offers an opportunity to acquire such with
a clear name of his at a reasonable price.

and a Lead Token-Prutah of Jannaeus, c. 100 BC - 68 AD. Included are two
items of Alexander Jannaeus. An AE prutah: Lily / Anchor in circle (Hendin
467); and a scarce token-coin in lead: Anchor within circle / Three line
inscription (Hendin 476). Also AE's of Ambibulus: Ear of barley / Palm
tree (Hendin 636); A. Felix: Crossed shields / Palm tree (Hendin
652); P. Festus: Palm branch / Inscription in wreath (Hendin 653).
Lastly, a prutah of the First Revolt, Year 2: Amphorah / Vine leaf (Hendin
661). Most with dark patinas and earthen hiughlights. Lot of 6 coins.

2. Well centered on tight module. Bold strike, on good metal. With light,

but lightly double struck on reverse; edge and obverse fields with some ancient

dark brown patinas and orichalcum highlights. The coin of Titus interred with
silver -- partial patina of silver oxide(?). First About Fine; second Very
Good / Good. Both rare types, and affordable examples of these historic
pieces.
